The emblem was decided by vote at the Departmental Affairs Council held on April 2nd, 2008. The gears on the top-left corner represent the machinery, sun on the top-right corner symbolizes the energy, and the aircraft at the bottom-right corner means the aviation. The combination of the three symbols represents the coordination and cooperation between the faculties with various expertise in the Department which aims to cultivate high quality science officers and engineers for the military and civil organizations.

Since we changed the name of the Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering in 2015/7/1, we revised the emblem at the same time.
